Dear SELF, GURU POORNIMA falls from Thursday, July 14th from 12.45 PM to Friday, July 15th 12.08 PM and some people celebrates either ob July 14th or July 15th according to individual choice and convenience!
Undoubtedly, Guru Poornima is the most auspicious day for various reasons.
Guru is the mediator between human & Brahman, the Ultimate. If Brahman is angry Guru can protect us but if Guru gets angry even Brahman (Please do not mistake with Brahma, the creator or brahmin who happens to be born in brahmin family) cannot protect us. Such is the importance of Guru and this is the day to show our gratitude towards Guru.
From Adi Guru who is Shiva to the present Guru like Sri Bharathi Tirtha of Sringeri Sarada Peetham who is an Andhra from Guntur district! and this tradition is termed as Guru Parmapara which is one of the main features of our sacred Sanatana Dharma which is the correct description which is meant for all humanity & all the creation of both living & non-living in the planets and not Hinduism which we all know which is for only a small sect of creation. This most sacred day is also named as Vyasa Poornima for what this great immortal soul has done for the humanity by dividing the eternal literature in to 4 and wrote so many things in a form understandable by every body and translated in the world languages all over the Globe and please click the two links below to know more about Veda Vyasa on

Other Gurus mostly thought of today is Guru Dattatreya who is the incarnation of Brahma-Vishnu-Maheswara, Sai Baba, Jesus Christ or Allah or Gautama Siddartha who became Buddha latter, or any personal Guru of your own and not the least of course our birth given Mother of all of us is the First Guru who showed us our father, Guru & then God. That is the reason we never able to pay our debt to our Mother and hence
MATRU DEVO BHAVA
PITRU DEVO BHAVA
ACHARYA (GURU) DEVO BHAVA
ATIDHI DEVO BHAVA
and then God comes which even God prefers this way!
